Visits

As part of the workshop we will visit the National Art Schools (Instuto Nacional de Arte) by Ricardo Porro, Vittorio Garatti and Roberto Gottardi. these innovative vaulted brick and terra-cotta structures were built in the far western Havana suburb of Cubanacán. The schools were conceived and founded by Fidel Castro and Che Guevara in 1961, and they reflect the optimism and revolutionary ideas of the early years of the Cuban Revolution.Over their years of active use, the schools served as the primary incubator for Cuba’s artists, musicians, actors, and dancers.

The University art Campus is compose by  the School of Modern Dance and School of Plastic Arts designed by Ricardo Porro, the School of Music and School of Ballet by Vittorio Garatti, and School of Dramatic Arts by Roberto Gottardi
